From genetics to the vineyard

At Grape Evolution, advanced grape breeding and agronomy are transformed into reliable commercial programs for growers and marketers around the world. Working with leading research partners and three evaluation vineyards in distinct climate zones—from hot-desert (BWh) to hot-summer Mediterranean (Csa)—the team tests new seedless varieties over many seasons and under real farming conditions.

Our rigorous process

The agronomy team works hand-in-hand with the research team across the three evaluation vineyards. These carefully selected sites allow seedless varieties to be tested under different climate stresses, including heat, drought, rain and humidity.

This long-term evaluation plan makes it possible to understand how each code behaves in the field, how it fits into early, mid or late-season windows, and how it performs on different rootstocks and systems. Only varieties that prove themselves technically and economically move forward toward broader adoption.

What we measure

Our Vision

Grape Team works with a clear set of agronomic and economic key performance indicators. The aim is to generate data that can support real decisions in the vineyard and in long-term program planning.

The core KPI categories include:

• Varietal productivity and efficiency
• Rootstock compatibility
• Varietal resistance and resilience
• Grapeconomics metrics
• Resource management and sustainability
• Quality and consumer acceptance

By tracking these indicators over multiple seasons and locations, the team can build a full picture of each variety’s strengths, limitations and best-fit scenarios.

Supporting growers for the long term
